sepIVF Egg Donation

In IVF egg donation process, a fertile woman donates an egg, or oocyte, to another woman who is infertile or not able to conceive. It is a part of latest assisted reproductive technology, or ART. Egg donation helps those women who cannot use their own eggs, including ovarian failure, avoiding congenital anomalies in the fetus, or because of age factor. In this procedure, a fertility specialist retrieves eggs from the donor, fertilize them with husband’s sperm in a laboratory, and then transfer the resulting embryos into the recipient's uterus. Doctors do this using an implantation procedure, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).
